Assist with Memorial Day Services - Monday, May 27, 2024


Each year, in remembrance of those who gave their lives for our country, and in honor of those who have served in our country's military forces, Troop 480 places flags on veterans graves and participates in Memorial Day services at the Westmoreland Memorial Park.

Place Flags at Cemetary
Location: Westmoreland Memorial Park; 150 Eastside Drive; Greensburg, PA 15601 (Off of PA-136, West Newton Rd.)
Date: Wednesday, May 22, 2024
Arrival/Departure: Meet at the cemetary at 5:30 p.m. - If there are enough participants, we should be done before 8:30 p.m.
Rain Date: In the event of inclement weather, an alternate date and time will be announced.
What to Bring: Screwdriver and pair of needle nose pliers. These are needed to clear mud or bits of wood from the flag holders.
Help Needed: We have more than 3000 flags to place on graves. It takes everyone's help to get this done in 2-3 hours. Parents are welcome to help us.
Uniform: Class 'A' Uniform as you would wear to a troop meeting

Memorial Day Services
Location: Westmoreland Memorial Park; 150 Eastside Drive; Greensburg, PA 15601 (Off of PA-136, West Newton Rd.)
Date: Monday, May 27, 2024
Arrival/Departure: Meet at the cemetary at 10:00 a.m. The program will be over and you should be free to leave by 12:30 p.m.
Duties: Scouts will assist guests to seats, distribute programs, participate in the opening flag ceremony, take down chairs, etc.
Uniform: Full Class 'A' Uniform - Scout pants or shorts, if you have them. No plaid shorts, please! Troop neckerchief.
