Six Flags PLUS
July 19-21, 2024


Each summer Troop 480 holds a special (longer) weekend campout. For 2024, with input from the Troop Leader's Council, this year's trip centers around a full day at Six Flags Darien Lake, in New York.

Camping will be at Darien Lakes State Park.

On the way to Six Flags, we will visit the Buffalo Naval & Military Park. And on the way home, the Zippo/Case Museum in Bradford, PA.

Date: July 19-21, 2024
Departure/Arrival: Meet at St. Paul's at 8:00 AM for a 8:30 departure.

Scouts will call home, to arrange pickup, shortly before the group returns to St. Paul's late Sunday afternoon (approx 5:00 PM).

Trip Segments: Friday Morning - St. Paul's to Buffalo Naval & Military Park - approx 4 hrs.
Friday Afternoon - Buffalo Naval & Military Park to Darien Lakes State Park - approx 1 hr.
Saturday Morning & Afternoon - Darien Lakes State Park <-> Six Flags Darien Lake - approx 10 minutes each direction.
Sunday Morning - Darien Lakes State Park to Zippo/Case Museum - approx 2 hrs.
Sunday Afternoon - Zippo/Case Museum to St. Paul's - approx 3-1/2 hrs.

Tent Camping: We will be camping in troop tents at Darien Lakes State Park.
Meals: The troop will provide all meals for this outing. NO PATROL COOKING required.
What to Bring: Items appropriate for tent camping. Bring clothing appropriate for mid-summer weather. Most activities will be outdoors, so you may need rain gear. Bring your class 'A' uniform to wear while visiting the Naval Park & Zippo/Case Museums.

Pack everything in a small duffel or backpack - no camp boxes!

Activity Fee: $100.00 - Your fee covers park admissions, meals and snacks.
Registration: Register early on our online system to save your space, but no later than Wednesday, July 10.
