Moraine Trails Council camp Bucoco was the location for out first weekend camp of 2025. Staying in the Nujelo cabin. A nearby pavillion was used for meal preparations. Program emphasis for the weekend was to assist newer members with map and compass skills to help them advance in rank. Saturday morning the troop hiked around the camp visiting the parade field, waterfront area, climbing tower and some of the hill campsites. In the afternoon, working on camp maps, the scouts laid down bearings between various waypoints (camp features like cabins, etc.) and then hiked, with the aid of compass, the designated route, to verify their route. The troop also practiced measuring the height of the camp flag pole, using a geometric technique. A couple of pizza ovens were available for the scouts to make personal pies for the Saturday supper.
